At the world famous San Diego Zoo, guest will see some of the world's rarest wildlife including koalas, Komodo Dragons and Hua Mei, the only giant panda cub in the U.S. New at the zoo is the Owens Rain Forest Aviary, where guests journey through a Southeast Asian jungle filled with sights and sounds of more than 200 exotic birds. Other unique habitats include the Ituri Forest, Polar Bear Plunge, Tiger River, Gorilla Tropics and Sun Bear Forest. Add in a double-deck bus tours, the Children's Zoo, animal shows, the reptile house and the Skyfari aerial tram for a full day of fun good for the whole family.
Dining options at the zoo range from snack bars to fine dining. Hours vary according to season with the zoo open daily at 9 AM. During the summer months closing is at 8 PM with the grounds closing at 10 PM. Wheelchairs, strollers and camera rentals are available.
