A visit to the 1,800-acre San Diego Wild Animal Park is like a journey through Africa and Asia. Guests may trek through the African wilderness in the 32-acre Heart of Africa walking safari, which includes close encounters with cheetahs, warthogs, rhinos and eland. A visit to a working research station and an opportunity to hand-feed gentle giraffes round your adventure. Other features at the park are the Wgasa Bush Line Railway tours past savannahs teeming with wildlife, Nairobi Village with its variety of animal exhibits, and Mombasa Lagoon interactive play area for kids along with regularly scheduled animal shows.
Dining options at the park will range from snack bars to healthy choice alternatives and all-American favorite restaurants. Park hours vary depending on season with the park open daily at 9 AM. In the summer months the exhibits close at 8 PM and the grounds close at 10 PM. Wheelchairs, strollers and camera rentals are available. Parking fees: $3.00 per car.
